LAD Today - July 17th

July 16th Louisiana Downs Recap

Fast and firm. Both surfaces seemed to play fair once again.

Jeff Burningham booted home a pair, and he rode Brilliant Cut perfectly in the 7th. He aggressively handled the inside speedster in the turf sprint, and he put away his pace rivals and held off the late runners in a determined tally.

Got a pair of tops home, but my best bet Farasino was run down in the late stages by my 2nd choice Dyna’s Greeley.

July 17th Preview

Friday’s 9-race card includes three grass races. Heavy thunderstorms are rolling through the Boosier City area on Thursday evening, so we may be off the turf on Friday.

My best bet is A Bit Touchy (race 2). She switches back to the main and drops in class, and the stalking type enjoys six furlongs. Expect a nice trip under leading rider Don Simington.

My daily selections have been added to the Louisiana Downs website. We also have live streaming video on the site, so you catch my paddock reports as well.
