Kobe Bryant to Play in Turkey?

Besiktas, the basketball team in Turkey that recently inked NBA superstar Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets, has made it known that Kobe Bryant is their next target. With the NBA players currently locked out, players will be free to play wherever in the world they wish.

But there’s no way Kobe would go to Turkey to play basketball, right?

Think again.

While no deal is imminent, Kobe’s representatives and the Turkish team have begun to exchange contract proposals. According to online rumors, Kobe wants $1 million per month, while Besiktas is offer half that amount.

However, there is one stumbling block. Besiktas, which also runs a soccer team, is currently dealing with a soccer game-fixing scandal. As a result, the team may not have the money to pay Kobe or any other NBA refugee.

That said, don’t think Kobe to Turkey is a pipe dream. It could actually happen.
