NBA pundits are saying the New York Knicks will need a lot of time before they have the chemistry to be truly competitive. It looks like those NBA pundits may be wrong. After the Miami Heat put the Knicks in an early 15-point hole, the Knicks bounced back and beat the Heat in a tightly contested matchup.
There’s no denying the talent on these Knicks. Soon, there may be no denying that these Knicks are a true contender.
Against the Heat, Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 29 points. Melo got help from both Amare Stoudemire and Chauncey Billups, who both had 16 points for New York.
After two LeBron James free throws put the Heat up by six points with three minutes remaining in the game, the Knicks took over. Melo hit two free throws and then Chauncey Billups followed with a jumper and a long three-pointer to give the Knicks a one-point lead. New York never trailed again.
The Heat got 27 points from LeBron, 20 points from Chris Bosh and 12 points from Dwyane Wade. However, all three of Miami’s Big 3 were invisible down the stretch. When it counted, the Knicks and their new stars shined.
