After the Oklahoma City Thunder were eliminated last year in the playoffs, the talk surrounding the team was concerning how well Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook could coexist. While Westbrook is a talented point guard, he’s also a player who looks to score first — and that doesn’t mesh well with Durant, who is arguably the NBA’s best scorer.
The rocky relationship between the two stars on the Thunder will be talked about even more after the pair got in a fight during Oklahoma City’s game on Wednesday. According to reports, Westbrook got angry at a teammate and then got angry at Durant after Durant tried to calm him down.
And while Durant and Westbrook brushed off the altercation, it appeared to really affect Westbrook’s play. He missed all 13 shots he attempted in what may have been his worst game of his career.
The good news for Durant and Westbrook is that the Thunder were able to pull out a 98-95 victory. As long as they keep winning, Durant and Westbrook will be able to coexist. But when things get difficult, what well happen?
If Wednesday was any indication, it won’t be pretty.
