Kendrick Perkins Injury Update

Kendrick Perkins, who was traded by the Boston Celtics to the Oklahoma City Thunder on the 2011 NBA trade deadline, has been diagnosed with a sprain knee and will be out up to three weeks. Until then, the Thunder won’t know exactly what they received in the trade that sent Jeff Green to the Celtics.

As for Perkins, he’s not worried about his knee injury.

Said Perkins: “I’m just here for the long haul. As long as I can get me some good games in in the regular season, get a good push going into the playoffs, I think I’m going to be all right.”

The starting center for the Celtics during their 2008 championship run, Perkins has averaged 7.3 points and 8.1 rebounds this season. He’s coming off of a torn ACL he suffered last year in the NBA Finals. Last season, Perkins played 78 games in the regular season and averaged 10.1 points and 7.6 rebounds.
