JR Smith Video: Tyreke Evans Phantom Shot

Check out this JR Smith video if you want to see one of the most odd events to ever take place on an NBA court. Unless you’re a fan of the Denver Nuggets, chances are that you will get a good chuckle out of the video.

In the third quarter of Saturday’s game between the Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets, Kings star rookie Tyreke Evans shoots a three-pointers. JR Smith then retrieves the ball and goes to inbound it. One problem: Evans missed the shot. JR Smith tried to inbound a made shot. Seriously. Watch the video for the evidence.

As it turned out, Smith’s mistake turned out to be costly as the Nuggets ended up losing by only two points. With the game tied at 100, Evans hit an 11-foot shot to give the Kings the lead. JR Smith — who else? — missed a three-pointer at the buzzer as the Kings won 102-100.

Evans finished with 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field to go along with four assists. Smith scored 20 points off the bench for the Nuggets, while also chipping in four rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Here’s the JR Smith video showing Tyreke Evans’ phantom shot:
