Jim Irsay is a Coward

Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, is getting ready to kick Peyton Manning to the curb. It’s obvious to anyone who has been paying attention. And while I don’t have a problem with that, I do have a problem with the way Irsay is handling it.

Instead of giving Manning and heart-felt send off, Irsay is instead running Manning’s name through the mud. It’s as if he thinks that he can get the fans on his side before making the tough call. Unfortunately for him, no one is buying it.

Manning’s fate in Indianapolis was settled when the Colts finished with the worst record in the NFL and received the rights to draft Andrew Luck. Luck, considered a once in a generation QB prospect, will take Manning’s place. And since Manning is due a bonus of more than $25 million soon, Irsay will be forced to say goodbye.

But don’t do it like this, Jim. You are coming across as a coward. Be a man and admit it’s a business decision. Then move on and let Manning move on.
