Jeff Fisher No Longer Tennessee Titans Coach

Jeff Fisher is out as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. This is a stunning move since it appeared as if Fisher was going to return for his 17th season as the franchise’s coach. Although he never won a Super Bowl as head coach of the Titans, he did lead the team to the 1999 Super Bowl — and almost won it.

The press release from the Titans regarding the move makes it sound as if the decision for Fisher to leave was mutual.

“The Tennessee Titans and Jeff Fisher have agreed to part ways and Fisher will no longer be the head coach of the team,” read the release.

Bud Adams, the owner of the Titans, earlier in the month said that Fisher was indeed returning for his 17th season.

Said Adams at the time: “I have informed our senior management that Jeff Fisher will be our head coach next season. The results of his leadership have been some very good football teams and I believe he will get us back to an elite level.”

It’ll be interesting to see where Fisher ends up as he’s considered a top-notch NFL coach. It will also be interesting to see who gets the Titans job since the job comes with an unusual amount of job security and a squad containing an ample amount of talent.
