Jamaal Charles Torn ACL? Fantasy Impact

The 2011 fantasy football season already has its first huge story: Jamaal Charles is likely out for the season. Charles, who was drafted in the top three in many fantasy football drafts, likely tore his ACL in Week 2. If that’s true, the Kansas City Chiefs running back will be gone until next season.

In his first three years in the NFL, Charles has been outstanding. For his career, he averages an amazing 6.1 yards per carry. Unfortunately, it is sounding more and more like we won’t see him for a while.

For fantasy football owners, this is obviously devastating news. Hopefully, you handcuffed Charles with Thomas Jones. If so, you can plug in Jones from now on. While he has a low ceiling, he’ll probably produce well enough to be a decent RB2.

As for the Chiefs, their season is already in shambles. They’ve gotten blown out in each of their first two games and now their best player is facing season-ending surgery.
