Howard out with torn ACL

NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.

Upon first reading this my mind went into all the machinations that the Orlando Magic would have to go through to remain competitive without Dwight Howard, but this is the ACL of Josh Howard and it is just one more blow to the Washington Wizards after surviving the Agent Zero gun controversy.

The Washington Wizards have dug themselves a huge hole, as gone is Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison, three players that were supposed to take the Wizards deep into the playoffs, as if anyone actually believed that nonsense.

Josh Howard will have to take a seat with a torn ACL

Still the Wizards are trying to shrug off the news and the beleaguered Flip Saunders, known as Coach of the sinking Wizards, is looking to Al Thornton to take Josh Howards place in the lineup.

Mike Jones, formerly of The Washington Times, is reporting on the ol’ Twitter machine that Wiz coach Flip Saunders has informed him that forward Josh Howard(notes) is done for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Howard, who was just acquired from Dallas in a seven-player trade, injured his left knee in the team’s victory over the Bulls on Monday night. Howard collided with Chicago’s Flip Murray while trying to catch an outlet pass with 4:23 left in the first quarter. He fell to the floor and had to be helped off.

The Wizards have found some heart with the loss of all their high priced talent as they have recently beaten the T-Wolves and Nuggets, almost the Raptors, and then beat the Bulls when Howard was injured.

Keep your eyes on forward Andray Blatche. He has been on a tear since the beginning of February, especially in the last 4 games scoring 33, 18, 24, and 25 with three of those games producing double doubles.

Washington will go into the off season well under the cap and looking at about the 8th pick in the draft at this time.
