Houston Rockets 2011 NBA Draft Review

With the 13th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns drafted Markieff Morris. Naturally, that meant that at 14 the Houston Rockets would draft Marcus Morris. The twins out of Kansas are never apart — even when it comes to the NBA draft.

While it made a good story, I’m not sure how Marcus Morris fits on the Rockets. They have a lot of power forwards so he probably has to play small forward to get time. The problem is that Marcus Morris probably can’t play small forward on the pro level.

At the 20th pick, the Rockets drafted Donatas Motiejunas. He’s another scoring bigman — and another player I’m not sure will fit on Houston’s roster.

In the second round, the Rockets drafted Chandler Parsons. The forward out of Florida is obviously talented but his absolute ceiling is a Chase Budinger clone.
