Last summer, Hedo Turkoglu signed a five-year, $53 million deal with the Toronto Raptors. After a tumultuous season in Toronto, the Raptors decided to ship the forward to the Phoenix Suns. Now in Phoenix, Hedo Turkoglu is blasting Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo.
In an interview posted at FoxSportsArizona.com, Turkoglu didn’t hold back.
Said Turkoglu: “People have to realize something is wrong with that organization and nobody wants to go there anymore. It’s not just the players who see this.”
Turkoglu’s comments were likely sparked by the criticism he encountered in Toronto, where fans and team officials questioned his commitment to winning. Additionally, the native of Turkey was upset with Colangelo’s criticism of Chris Bosh. According to Colangelo, Bosh gave up on the team during the stretch run last season.
“It’s funny that people will talk behind your back. If he was feeling this way, why not have the guts to say it during the season? Why not say it to Chris? Now that Chris has left, it’s not nice to say those things,” Turkoglu said.
