Heat Regain Series Lead

Dwyane Wade - Miami Heat v Dallas Mavericks - Game ThreeChris Bosh hit the go-ahead jumper with just under 40 seconds left and the Miami Heat went on to take Game 3 of the NBA Finals with an 88-86 victory on Sunday. The Heat now have a 2-1 lead over the Dallas Mavericks.

Dirk Nowitzki scored the final 12 points of the contest for the Mavs, but his shot at the buzzer didn’t go in and Miami came away with the victory.

Though the Mavs are down 2-1, the next two games are in Dallas because of the 2-3-2 Finals format. If they can win the next two at home, they still have a chance in this series, but history is not in their favor. Since the 2-3-2 format started back in 1985, 11 times the series was tied 1-1 going into Game 3. All 11 times, the team who won the third game went on to win the title.

Dwyane Wade scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Miami, while Nowitzki tallied 34 points and 11 boards for the Mavs.

Game 4 takes place on Tuesday night.
