Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

The fantasy football season is more than halfway finished. Is your team ready to compete for a fantasy championship? If you need a little help, considering signing one of these waiver wire pickups for Week 9 of the 2011 fantasy football season.

QB Tarvaris Jackson, Seattle Seahawks
Yeah, everyone hates Tarvaris Jackson. But he’s been getting better and better this season. In Week 8, he returned from injury and passed for a carer-high 323 yards. As a backup with a decent ceiling, sign him up.

RB Javon Ringer, Tennessee Titans
Let’s face it, something is wrong with Chris Johnson. Right now, he just sucks. Javon Ringer is the better player and I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris Johnson went down with an “injury” in hopes of figuring out what has gone so horribly wrong.

WR Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pick him up if he’s available. Another hard truth: Antonio Brown is better than Hines Ward. If the Steelers coaching staff agrees and continues to play Brown a lot, he’ll become fantasy relevant in no time.

TE Brent Celek, Philadelphia Eagles
Michael Vick usually ignores Brent Celek. But the Eagles played a safer style of offense and it featured a lot of their starting tight end. Sign Brent Celek and see if that trend continues.
