Hat trick for Miguel Mena. Steve Asmussen saddled three winners on the day, and Shaun Bridgmohan was aboard for two.

Sam He Be was re-claimed by Michelle Lovell on Nov 27^th, and he has clearly found his best stride again. He won a claiming route today and is a threat right back next time.

On the analysis front, I got home tops Snicky ($10.20), Sam He Be (best bet #2, $7.40), and Bud’s Creek (best bet #3, $9.20). I also tabbed the pick three ($109.60) ending with the 5^th race, and the 8^th race exacta ($13).

Rachel Alexandra is back on the official worktab. She went an easy four furlongs in :52 at Fair Grounds on Jan 31st.

Fair Grounds Preview – Feb 1st

A 10-race program will be run on Monday at the Fair Grounds. There is a 50% chance of PM showers with a high temperature of 59. Pick six carryover of $775.

The 3^rd race is an optional claiming race for 3yo’s traveling a mile and forty yards on the main track. A big effort could lead to a start in the Grade 2 Risen Star on Feb 20^th. Bravo Whiskey, Daddy Forty Nine, and Walking The Beach try to rebound from disappointing local efforts. Down With Dixie exits sharp maiden route win, and Hotep can improve in his 2^nd conventional dirt outing. This event is my Horse Racing Nation free selection of the day.
