Eagles to Tag Michael Vick, Trade Kevin Kolb

The Philadelphia Eagles are starting to leak their plans regarding the future of their quarterback position. After a great season, Michael Vick has apparently won the starting QB job going forward. Kevin Kolb, who entered this season as the team’s starting quarterback, will likely be moved via a trade.

To keep Vick, the Eagles are expected to use the franchise tag on him. As a result, Vick will make around $20 million. Though that is a whole lot of money, Vick — when he’s at his best — is well worth that change. His game breaking skills will make the Eagles a favorite to win next season’s Super Bowl.

As for Kolb, he’ll land on his feet. There are a ton of teams that need a new starting quarterback. Kolb is highly thought of around the league and could be traded to a team like the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Tennessee Titans or Denver Broncos.
