Derrick Rose Signs Contract Extension

While it seems like every young player in the NBA wishes they were in a different market, Derrick Rose is happy in Chicago. To prove his happiness, Rose signed a five-year extension with the Chicago Bulls. The reigning MVP will be paid nearly $95 million over the life of the contract.

Derrick Rose doesn’t sound like a player that will get fat and lazy now that he’s a rich man: “I think I live a humble life. Of course, I know I’ll be able to afford whatever I want, but other than that, there aren’t too many things that excite me. Me winning is one of the things.”

Last season, Derrick Rose averaged 25 points per game along with 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds. At 23, the point guard carried the Bulls to the best record in the NBA.

And now the Bulls can continue to build around him for another five seasons.
