There are a handful of elite defenses available for the 2011 fantasy football season. If you can get one of the top defenses on this list, you will be very happy. However, past the first five or so teams on this list, there is a lot of uncertainty. Without further ado, here are our 2011 fantasy football rankings for defense.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers were great last season and will bring back practically the same squad.
2. New York Jets
The Jets focus on defense and have the talent to be fantasy monsters.
3. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are old on D but they still make a ton of big plays.

4. Green Bay Packers
Can their 2010 magic carry over to 2011? Probably so.
5. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles added a bunch of big names. Expect production to follow.
6. New England Patriots
The youngsters appear ready to become a fantasy force.
7. Chicago Bears
The Bears are once again a very good defensive team.
8. Atlanta Falcons
If you are looking for consistency, you won’t find much better choices than the Falcons.
9. Detroit Lions
Do you want a defense with a high ceiling? The Lions could very well be a top three defense when all is said and done.
10. New Orleans Saints
The Saints won’t be consistent but they thrive on creating havoc.
