Cup Chatter: BC Juvenile Fillies Turf

Time to take a look at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Filly Turf. The probable list was supposed to clear up somewhat after the Win and You’re In Jessamine from Keeneland on Oct 15th, but that race lost automatic berth status after it was transferred from turf to synthetic.

Maram (middle) wins the '08 BC Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita.

Ken McPeek has Cup contenders Noble’s Promise (BC Juvenile), Beautician (BC Juvenile Fillies), and Bridgetown (BC Juvenile Turf), and now you can add House of Grace to the Juvenile Filly Turf list after her nose victory in the aforementioned Jessamine.

Smart Seattle just missed in the Keeneland affair, and the highly regarded Hatheer landed the show.

Clive Brittain might ship from overseas with Hibaayeb. The improving miss graduated in the Group 1 Fillies Mile at Ascot in September.

Tapitsfly won the grassy P.G. Johnson at the Spa this summer, and she finished 2nd in the compact Miss Grillo (off the turf) at Belmont on Oct 4th.

I will return with an update on this race when the hopefuls come more into focus.
