Clemson’s Magical Run Ends

Clemson was 8-0 and was ranked No. 5 in the nation. They had impressive wins over Auburn, Florida State and Virginia Tech. Unfortunately for Clemson, that all went down the drain tonight when they lost to Georgia Tech by a final score of 31-17.

Clemson got on the board first with a field goal but then Georgia Tech exploded. They scored the game’s next 24 points to head into halftime with a 24-3 lead. Though Clemson fought hard in the second half, the damage was already done.

Tajh Boyd, who entered the game as a Heisman candidate, had an awful game. He was 23-for-40 and was intercepted twice. Coming in, Boyd had 24 touchdown passes and only three INTs.

Georgia Tech had been ranked as high as 13 but fell out of the ranking after losing two straight. This win may move them back into the top 25.
