Challenge Jimmie in 2010?

Jimmie Johnson for President! Jimmie Johnson may have won the Sprint Cup Series for four straight years but President? The best driver in NASCAR for 2009, Jimmie Johnson has probably achieved just about everything he started out to accomplish. What could be next for Jimmie? Dare we say a fifth Sprint Cup Series Championship is probably next on the menu for Jimmie, unless he decides to take up Formula One or some other kind of challenge. It wouldn’t surprise me if Jimmie did decide to move onto other challenges. How many times do you have to win the Sprint Cup Series Championship to be considered the best ever? This is a good question and one that Jimmie means to test in the future.

Jimmie will have to contend with rising stars like Juan Montoya, who was starting to come on strong during the Chase and if there had been a few more races or he had made his move earlier in the season, he might have given Johnson a much better challenge. Still, for a racer who probably wasn’t on anybodies radar after a few lackluster seasons on the Sprint Cup Series circuit, Juan Montoya looked like a racer at the end of the season, who could make a move on Jimmie during the 2010 season. He needs a better start to the season and more consistency during the whole season to compete, but he looks like he’s maturing and ready to make his move.

Tony Stewart also had a stellar year racing on the Sprint Cup Series and he should definitely be on radar of all of the drivers who wish to compete for the Sprint Cup Series Championship in 2010. Stewart managed to grab five wins during the 2009 Sprint Cup Series season, which includes the All-Star extravaganza, and a total of 15 top five finishes and 23 top ten finishes. These racing accomplishments are amazing during a year in which he also started and ran his own race team, the Stewart-Haas Race Team.

There are other racers who should be on Johnson’s radar to challenge him for his fifth straight Sprint Cup Series Championship in 2010. They’ll have to get in line though, because Jimmie has everybody’s target on his back and he knows it and this is just the way he likes it.

I got through the first sentence and could not read any more. I hate Johnson, but as a writer of NASCAR, you should know that his name is spelled Jimmie Johnson. It is not spelled “Jimmy”. He is the NASCAR driver, not the coach.
