Celtics Lose Again as Pacers Roll

The Boston Celtics are having a difficult time finding the win column. They’ve lost three out of their last four games and seven of their last twelve. On Monday night, the Celtics traveled to Indiana and left with another loss. The Pacers won by a final score of 107-100 after outscoring the Celtics in the fourth quarter, 26-15. The win improved the Pacers to 33-42 and kept Indiana as the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Roy Hibbert led the way for the Pacers, finishing with 26 points on 12-for-17 shooting from the field. Danny Granger, Darren Collison and A.J. Price had 18, 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Why was Hibbert so dominant on this night? Celtics head coach Doc Rivers blamed injury and foul trouble.

“We needed that extra big body. Tonight, the foul trouble just killed us. It crushed us today,” said Rivers, as the Celtics were playing with Shaquille O’Neal, Jermaine O’Neal and Troy Murphy, who all missed the game due to injury.

The Celtics also missed an opportunity to move within one game of the Chicago Bulls in the East. The Bulls lost to the Sixers on Monday.
