CC Sabathia has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball the last few years. However, he hasn’t had much success against the Boston Red Sox. For a pitcher for the New York Yankees, that’s definitely an issue. But on Tuesday, Sabathia finally notched a win against New York’s arch nemesis.
In notching his first win against the Red Sox in five attempts, Sabathia went six innings and struck out ten batters while allowing two runs. The win improved his record to 18-7 to go along with a 2.99 ERA.
Did Sabathia enjoy the win over the Red Sox?
“Of course, when you guys won’t stop talking about it,” said the husky hurler.
The win was also big for the Yankees. They are now half a game behind the Red Sox in the AL East. The two teams play again on Wednesday, with Phil Hughes going for the Yankees and Josh Beckett taking the mound for the Red Sox.
