Carson Palmer Retired?

There seems to be a game of chicken taking place in Cincinnati right now. Bengals quarterback says he either wants to get traded and that he’d rather retire than play for the Cincinnati again. In response, Bengals owner Mike Brown said he will not trade Carson Palmer. In fact, Mike Brown claims that Carson Palmer is indeed retired.

Why would the Bengals not trade Carson Palmer? Even though it makes no football sense, Mike Brown’s stance appears to be based on principal. He believes that Carson Palmer should respect his contract and suit up. In his words, he doesn’t want to reward Carson Palmer by giving in and trading him.

Last season, Carson Palmer threw for 3,970 yards and 26 touchdowns. However, he also had a career-high 20 interceptions and one of the worst quarterback ratings of his career.

Would the 31-year-old quarterback really call it quits? I think he’s bluffing but we may have really seen the last of Carson Palmer.
