Cam Newton Enters 2011 NFL Draft

Cam Newton, the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback for the National Champion Auburn Tigers, has entered the 2011 NFL Draft. Newton, who began his college career with the Florida gators, will skip his senior season. In his lone season at Auburn, Newton passed for 2,854 yards, rushed for 1,473 yards and totaled 52 touchdowns.

In the 2011 NFL Draft, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner is expected to be selected in the first round. Although he’s a bit raw, his size and natural talent will be difficult to pass on.

To win the National Championship, Auburn defeated the Oregon Ducks 22-19 to finish the season at 14-0. It was Auburn’s first National Championship in more than 50 years. However, life wasn’t all good for Newton this year. He had to deal with a lot of rumors about whether or not he took money to attend Auburn. His father, Cecil, was in the middle of those controversies.

But now that Newton is off to the NFL draft, he no longer has to worry about improper money. He’ll get a lot of money now — with every penny being legit.
