The Chicago Bulls had a tougher than anticipated series against the Indiana Pacers in the first round. The Hawks, on the other hand, were the underdogs against the Orlando Magic but were able to stun many NBA pundits. Now, with the two teams matching up in the second round, who will win — the Bulls or the Hawks?
It will be the Bulls … but it won’t be easy.
The Bulls have injury concerns — most notably to Carlos Boozer — and they looked very average at times against the Pacers. The thing the Bulls have going for them is Derrick Rose, the 2011 NBA MVP. When the Bulls and Hawks are battling in close games, Rose will be the difference.
The Hawks are a decent team but they just aren’t good enough on either side of the court right now. The Bulls have the better defense and the more explosive offense. The Hawks may have more scoring options but their scorers are streaky and that just isn’t good enough.
FINAL PREDICTION: Bulls in 7.
