Brett Favre Injury Update – Fantasy Impact

Brett Favre is the ultimate ironman. He hasn’t missed a game since 1992 despite taking a beating each and every year. However, two fractures in his ankle has his streak at risk. He was limping during Week 7 and he’s currently in a walking boot.

That said, Brett Favre says he’s not counting himself out yet.

Said Favre: “I’m willing to give it a try.”

For fantasy football purposes, it’d be best to stay away from Favre this week. Not only is he injured, the Minnesota Vikings are going against a tough New England Patriots squad.

Even if Favre is ruled out before the game, Tarvaris Jackson — Minnesota’s backup quarterback — doesn’t hold much fantasy football value.

If I had to guess, I’d guess that Favre will play. Though it’s becoming more and more obvious that there’s no way Favre will play as well as he did last year. From here on out, Favre makes a decent backup fantasy football quarterback — at best.
