The Miami Heat, although they still are far from the peak playing ability, can win on pure talent alone. Riding the backs of their Big 3 — Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh — the Heat were able to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder of Sunday afternoon by a final score of 108-103.
Wade led the way with 32 points and nine rebounds. LeBron James pitched in 23 points, 13 assists, four rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots, while Chris Bosh had 20 points and seven rebounds. No other Heat player was in double figures.
For the Thunder, their Big 3 came up just short. Kevin Durant had 33 points and ten rebounds, Jeff Green totaled 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Russell Westbrook finished with 21 points, ten assists and seven rebounds.
Durant, however, doesn’t think his team is built like the Heat.
Said Durant: “I don’t look at it as the ‘Big 3.’ They may look at it like that over there, but over here we’re a whole group.”
That whole group wasn’t enough to get the job done, dropping the Thunder to 30-17 on the season. The Heat and their Big 3 improved to 33-14.
