Thursday is Opening Day for the 2011 Major League Baseball season. The long wait since last year’s World Series, which saw the San Francisco Giants defeat the Texas Rangers, is finally over! On Opening Day, there are three baseball games that you definitely should watch. Luckily, all three games can be watched on ESPN.
Detroit Tigers @ New York Yankees
The best part of this game will be the pitching matchup. Justin Verlander of the Tigers takes on the Yankees C.C. Sabathia in what could be a Cy Young Award preview. It’ll also be interesting to see if New York’s offseason moves pay immediate dividends.

San Diego Padres @ St. Louis Cardinals
Is this Albert Pujols’ last Opening Day as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. It may very well be since he’s becoming a free agent at the end of the season. You can’t miss this game!
San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Dodgers
The defending World Series champions start off the 2011 baseball season on the road. The Dodgers could make an early statement with a win on Opening Day.
