2011 NBA MVP? LeBron Says it’s Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose is very likely to win the 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player award. His chances to win MVP just got better after he got a key endorsement … from LeBron James. LeBron, who is also in the MVP race, had this to say when asked who the MVP should be for the 2011 season: “I think Derrick Rose”.

“What he’s done for that team, with all the injuries they have and them being first in the Eastern Conference,” added LeBron, “they’re playing some really good basketball.”

As it stands, the Bulls at 54-20 have a two and a half game lead on both the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. Rose is averaging 25 points, 7.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 37.4 minutes per game. He’s shooting 43.9% from the field and 33.2% on three-pointers.

Honestly though, LeBron James has better stats. The superstar for the Miami Heat is averaging 26.6 points, 6.9 assists and 7.5 rebounds on 50.7% shooting from the field and 33.2% shooting from beyond the arc. But for some reason, LeBron has been against winning the MVP all season. With his endorsement for Rose, he may have locked up the MVP trophy for the Chicago Bulls point guard.
