You probably generally think of whisky as something to drink in the winter to warm you up. But it actually makes a terrific ingredient in cool, refreshing summertime cocktails too. These drink recipes use Canadian Club whisky and fresh fruit.

Summer Melon Thyme
Summer Melon Thyme
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ parts CC
- ¾ parts DeKuyper Triple Sec
- 2 parts Fresh Lemon Sour
- 3 (1-inch) cubes fresh watermelon
- 3-inch sprig of Thyme leaves stripped
Method:
Muddle watermelon in a mixing glass. Add all remaining ingredients and shake vigorously with ice and double strain into a chilled cocktail glass or over fresh ice in a tall glass. If serving tall spritz with lemon-lime soda and stir.
Garnish with a watermelon spear and or a lemon twist.
Mango Smash
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ parts CC Reserve 10 year
- 3 (1-inch) chunks of fresh mango
- half moon slice of orange
- 2 sugar cubes
- 2-3 dashes of Orange Bitters
- soda water
Method:
In an Old Fashion or double rocks glass muddle the sugar cube with the bitters, add fruit and muddle again insuring the release of oils from the orange peel. Fill glass with small cubed ice, add bourbon and stir. Spritz with soda water, stir once more, drop in a cherry for garnish.
