Range Rover Turns 40

Today is the 40th birthday of the Range Rover.  On June 17, 1970, Range Rover / Range Rover Sport Product Manager, Frank Dauerer, was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. Ironically, the Range Rover was also born on June 17, 1970, though across the Atlantic at the Land Rover factory on Lode Lane.

Is it a rare coincidence, or did Frank get hired because of his birthday?

It’s kind of cool to see the evolution of the Range Rover. The first edition was so boxy…

A few years back, a leased a Range Rover for a few years – it was certainly a fun car to drive.

The original Range Rover was the first vehicle that actually did well on the road and off. In a sense, it paved the road for the development of the SUV.  You can visit interactivelandrover.com to learn more about the evolution of the Range Rover.
