It’s weekend once again and I aim to start it right and light. I’ll cut to the chase since it’s already up there in the headline. Let’s talk about what you, massively multiplayer online games fanatic, like to munch on while playing your favorite titles? Remember, it’s not what you’re playing but what you’re eating while playing.
Let’s turn this posting into a meme by asking five of MMOtaku‘s friends to tell us their Top 5 MMO Gamer Grubs. I’d like to point out that liquids count in the list. Naturally, I have to start this meme with my own list.

My Top 5 MMO Gamer Grub (in no particular order):
Chips, Chips and More Chips! Bring it on! The life of the party, your run-of-the-mill, garden variety chips, are here. I don’t know about you, but I can live off chips for an entire day. Well, not really, but they do make excellent Gamer Grub as long as you drink a lot of water. I prefer multigrain over potato, and sour cream and onion or ketchup flavor over others.
Coffee. No gaming run is complete without fixing yourself—and a loved one or a gaming bud—a couple or two steaming cups of piping hot coffee. If you want to keep going like the Energizer Bunny for hours on end, better stock up on this all-important resource. Instant coffee or three-in-one mixes (read: coffee, cream and sugar) do nicely, but if you really want the caffeine to kick in, it’s got to be brewed. A friendly warning, though: Kids, stay away from coffee. The same goes for players who regularly experience bouts of nervousness.
Cookies, Crackers and Biscuits. Yes, these babies help tide your tummy over a few hours until the next big meal. My personal favorites are Oreo and Chips Ahoy for cookies and these cracker-wafer combo sandwiches that not only cater to my sweet tooth but also my tummy’s constant rumblings while watching my characters hack away. Too much sugar, however, tends to make you sleepy.
Noodles In A Cup. Ahh, what a wondrous invention these cup noodles are. Thanks to these ingenious porta-foods, gamers the world over can now enjoy a hot cup of noodles and soup anytime, anywhere—as long has you have hot water nearby, that is. It’s also very filling and keeps you going for a few more hours. Cup noodles are a bit salty, though, so you may want to chug down a few glass of water as well.
Bread and Spreads. Now, if you want a good meal and not just a snack, you should grab a loaf of bread and a bottle of your favorite spread. Personal favorites include peanut butter and the various cheese spreads. If you’re a gourmet, might as well whip out the heavy guns (read: bring out the cold cuts) and lavish them upon stacks of bread. The downside with this Gamer Grub is that when you feel full, you’ll also feel the pull … of your bed. Like sugar shock, a heavy tummy makes you want to just stretch yourself out on the bed and sleep.
Okay, I’m done with my five. Now it’s your turn to give us your Top 5 MMO Gamer Grubs: PJ Punla, Mon Macutay, Darrick Regondola, Relly Carpio and Robert Sanchez.
