Luna Love

100_1589.jpg

Not too long ago I came home to this beauty on my door step.  And not too long after that, they were all gone.

It also came with this naked guy.

Clif Bar sent me some of their new Luna Bar flavors and products to try out. I’m not just saying this because I got swag, but Luna Bars are my favorite bars of any brand. They are never too sweet which is a big turn off for me, and I’ve never tried a flavor I didn’t like.

I immediately opened the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Luna Bar and was not disappointed.  In true Luna fashion, it wasn’t too sweet, and you could really taste the macadamia nut flavor.  I didn’t find any actual nuts, but there’s enough crunch that I didnt really miss them.

The new Luna Cookies are my favorite though; the Berry Pomegranate especially.  The cookie was nice and chewy, with tons of chuncks of berry.  It reminded me of a Nutrigrain bar without the cake-y texture with way more nutrients and way more cookie for 140 calories.

Also included was a Mint Chocolate Luna cookie which I scarfed down before I could take a picture (I’m not a foodie, I’m not used to taking pictures of things I eat).  It was amazing. Chewy Thin Mint sums it up completely.

The naked Peanut Butter Chocolate Luna cookie tasted exactly like a Peanut Butter Z-bar, which I’m not a huge fan of, but I haven’t met another single person that doesn’t like them. The consistency was a bit denser, and more gooey than the other cookies.

And, last but not least they sent along the little Mini Lunas, which I cannot find anywhere in my area. I’ve been looking for the longest time, but I cannot find a store that carries them. They are the perfect pre or post workout snack- under 100 calories and gone in 2 bites.  I can’t eat much before I work out or else I get a stomach ache so these are perfect. If anyone knows where to find them around Seattle, please let me know.

Thanks, Clif Bar, for the yummy bars and I will definately be picking up some of the cookies to take with me to work!

Don’t forget to enter this week’s giveaway! It ends Friday!

I was at the Target in Westwood yesterday and did indeed see the mini Luna bars there. They were over with all the protein bars and stuff an aisle or two away from the toothpaste, right by the camera section. Hope that helps!

I love luna bars! I give clif bars the slight edge, but they’re still great. :)

cookie? Did you just say cookie??

I’m mostly a bar virgin, but I’ve had a s’more luna bar and a lemon zest luna bar and they were both tasty- even after they’d gotten squished/melted at the bottom of my bag for a week or so from tramping across Italy (they were my emergency snack carted all the way from Canada hehe).

You are so lucky to have these things just landing on your doorstep! I need to start convincing companies to send me their food:)

I love both the Clif bar minis and Luna minis! I have found them at Target and Whole Foods on a consistent basis. Just last weekend, they popped up at my local Dominick’s (Safeway–out west, I believe). Now if only Larabar would sell minis . . . . . . .

Oooh, I am so in love with Luna bars! I pretty much never eat protein bars of any kind (they fall into the candy category in my book) but I do make an exception for Lunas. When I want a candy bar, i get a Luna bar instead – they are that good. Now I am having a serious serious craving for that mint chocolate cookie one. Mmmm….

I got mine at Tar-jay. Are the new ones still dairy free? Vegan?

    Great reviews!!

I was going to suggest Target too. I think I’ve seen them there before. They’re not with the granola bars though, they’re over with the protein bars and “weight loss aids” in the middle of the shampoo and deodorant section. Have you checked PCC?
