Link Love and Weekend Workout

I decided to combine these two because my weekend workout went like this:

Friday Night: Went to a pirate party, because Friday was National Talk Like a Pirate Day, was challenged to a race by a friend around midnight down the street, pulled my quad. Bad.

Saturday: Lots of rest and whining

Sunday: very easy treadmill walking and elliptical at the gym.

Its still bugging me. It hurts to do anything other than walking. Stupid pirates.

So! instead of listening to me whine, here is some interesting fitness news:

Diets in Review’s Jason introduces you to Slim Chips, chips that are actually made of paper. Yeah. Seriously.

The Huffington Post challenges designer’s vow to ban super skinny models  and place more “curvy” models in their shows. After looking at the pics, curvy isn’t the word I would use. Pointy, maybe.

This is probably mean of me, but ever wonder where these guys get their shirts?

Well, its here.

There’s been lots of talk of Micheal Phelps’ hypocrtitical decision to pose for a Frosted Flakes box, chocked full of sugar, instead of Wheaties a wholesome nutritious breakfast (based on how Michael eats, I’m suprised he knows the difference.)

    Aw no, not Phelps too!

Hope your injury is all recovered soon (that must have been a sweet party though!).

And gotta agree with you about the pointyness. From that article, THIS jumped out at me- one of the models saying, “They said, ‘You need to lose more weight. The look this year is anorexia. We don’t want you to be anorexic but that’s what we want you to look like.’” Um, WTF?

Right now, I am so so happy that I just ate 2 homemade chocolate cupcakes.

Kelly!!! I just spent WAY to much time looking at that fashion website for “big” men. I’m dying, girl. That’s the best thing I’ve read all weekend.

Please tell me that picture of the bodybuilder is Photoshopped! I think some of my breakfast just came back up.

Also that picture of MF makes me want to lick my computer screen. I wonder how many calories are in plastic? LOL

Sagan- yeah its statements like that that make me happy nobody cares what I look like. I like how they tell them not to be anorexic, but offer nothing in the way of educating them on nutrition.

If you are interested in hearing about the pressures from and insider, Jessie at http://www.modbehav.com just wrote 3 part peice on her experience with modelling and weight.

charlotte- I know! I spent a half hour on that site laughing so hard. I guess big muscles means you have to have horrible hair cuts as well. good to know.

Laura- thanks! You arent so bad yourself ;)

jj125- i think it is photoshopped. it has to be. im pretty sure his skin would explode.

Phelps has such an amazing body. I just…. words cant describe.
