Willem Dafoe Giving "Antichrist" His Comeuppance?

If anyone can give the devil his due by kicking him in the rear, and sending him crying back to hell, it has to be Willem Dafoe. He is tapped to play the lead role in Lars Von Trier’s 2009 release, called Antichrist.

Best known for his roles in Platoon, Spiderman films, and Shadow of The Vampire, Dafoe’s trademark has always been that of a fearless actor. In Antichrist, he portrays a husband who has lost his son in a tragedy, and he and his wife (Charlotte Gainsburg) go to a cabin…in the woods…to mourn their loss. Of course, some unexplained events and strange occurrences begin to happen there.

It’s been said the premise of the film is that the devil created the world instead of God. Filming begins this month in Germany.

My big question right now is if anyone has asked Dafoe if he’s afraid of a movie curse. After all, he did portray Christ in another movie, and although he’s not portraying the role of the devil in this one, I’m thinking the devil has something to worry about here.
