Will There Be a House Spin-Off After All?

It seems that the “Powers That Be” at FOX have given House executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs a standing order for a House spin-off. They originally thought they would do a series using Lucas, the quirky private investigator, but they didn’t feel that the character worked on its own.

So now they are thinking about possible scenarios for a second show. The plan is to have the second show produced by them follow House in the 9 PM time slot. They can’t ask for a better lead series, right?

My thought is that they have created the perfect possibility for the second show. What about a show that revolves around Cameron and her far-too-empathetic way with patients? Jennifer Morrison is free from House now and it would pave the way for some great crossover episodes (for both shows.)

Or do you think they should go with something entirely different? If the new show is the quality of House, it will surely be a hit too. Do you have any ideas for the kind of show it should be? Leave a comment and lets discuss!

I have another great idea…House should try to find everything about Lucas in order to prove Cuddy how wrong she is about him and then the turn out should be that either they are brothers or father and son:)))..that would be FUN

well, i believe that it would be interesting for Cameron to come back and join the them with the purpose of making House fall in love with her. 13 should fall in love with cameron and try to seduce her which would make the plot seriously tangled. House should try to recover and walk well again. He should get a gorgeous trainer that would only heat the spirits both in Cuddy and Cameron. I believe that Houser should leave the hospital more often- I mean he should find cases on his way to work or people that he knows should get sick. Definitely a bit of drama should be introduced as Chases loses his minds with jealousy and guilt and starts to thread a plan to compromise House’s reputation, finally ending with House losing his medical practice and the adventure of trying to get it back, to prove his innocence….what would you say of that?

Give 13 her own show already. It’s about time, she’s eating up all the sreentime of the others on House anyway, and I would love to be able NOT to turn on the 13 showcase, because that’s what they’re doing with House MD right now. So get her another show to let her shine (which, of course, airs somewhere around midnight because it’ll be just too darn hot!!).

Actually a doctor show with a Cameron type as the lead is not unusual at all. If you think about it, prior to House, weren’t medical shows like that? Now, would it be good is another story. I really like Cameron. I also have a lot faith in Shore. We’ll see.

According to Aussiello, Jennifer Morrison was having meetings for pilots. Interesting…

A spinoff with any of the cast wouldn’t really work because we all ready know so much about them and the mystery if who the character really is, isn’t there. And to make cameron the lead would make it boring. Watching a show about a person who has good morals and is overly caring just doesn’t interest me. But, if David Shore made a whole new show at nine I would be happy to watch it.

umm..i don’t think it would make any sense whatsoever for hugh laurie to be in a spinoff..derrr!

ugh cameron is to annoying for a show totally dedicated to her. the show would consist of her crying and complaining about everything.

I agree with what Andrea is saying. You need a very strong character to lead a series and a great actor to pull it off. Best actor on this show already has his own series…House wouldn’t work without Hugh Laurie, plain and simple. He lights up every scene he’s in know matter how small the part.

If Hugh Laurie is in it…I’m all for it.

I think it would be an excellent i read a “fanfic crossover” and it seemed very interesting …..
I just hope that if that happens, we lose the great chemistry there House & Cameron (Hugh & Jennifer).
And especially would like the project was of Shore.

Spin offs rarely work no matter which character you put in them. The expectations from the original show are so high usually that the spin off can’t possibly reach that high bar. I know there are a few that worked out (Mork and Mindy, for example, a spin off of Happy Days) but they had a super strong character to build the spin off around. I don’t see such a character on House. The supporting characters are good, but I don’t see any currently that are strong enough to support a spin off. They’d better think very carefully about this first, which I’m sure they are.

saying YES to a Cameron spin-off.. but NO to Lucas spin-off

but I think I would like to see something so surprising that would make us all wonder.. LOL

I think they should not make a spinoff. instead they should make house 2 hours

I can’t imagine the character of Cameron would be enough to write a whole show around. I hate the idea. If they were going to do another show with all of the same people crossing over directly after House they might as well give us a 2 hour episode instead. Now THAT I would love.

OMG CAMERON!! that would make my life. Im a huge fan of the greys spin off with addison. So i could only imagine a spin off with cameron. A hole show to explore her character and her life. THAT WOULD BE INCREDIBLE. I would be over the moon if that happened

Definitely ‘no’ to a Cameron spinoff, nothing would be more boring. Gone is gone. Any spinoff should not involve the cast of House as main characters – visitors in crossover episodes would be OK – great even if it involved House and meant more HL screen time.

I’d rather have Cameron back on House honestly, the scenes between her and House were too awesome.
My thought would be more like: have Cuddy and Lucas have their own show. Hospital admins are not exactly what I need to see in a medical drama series ;-)
No, seriously, why not give Thirteen her own show? Most of us would be more than happy to get rid of her. House MD without the original cast (ALL of them) is not really House MD for me anymore – and right now it looks like many viewers share that pov and are as sad about it as I am. So I say: give Thirteen her own show and have Cameron coming back.
