In Prison Break Episode 1.03: Cell Test, I wonder why Sucre went along with Michael if he was just going to switch cells anyway?
During P.I. duty in the laundry room, Michael walks past Sucre and opens a small electrical box. Sucre watches as Michael pulls a cell phone from his pocket, wraps it in a towel and stuffs it in the box.
“Tell me that ain’t what I think it is,” pleads Sucre and tells Michael that if they are caught, two years can be added to his sentence automatically. But then Sucre realizes he can call Maricruz whenever he wants.
Later, Michael tells Lincoln that they need to make sure that Sucre can keep his mouth shut. After Lincoln sees Sucre talking in the yard to his friends, he chats with Bellick, hinting that he knows of an inmate with a cell phone. Lincoln rises from his knees, heads into his cell, and as Bellick prepares to lock him down, says “You know a con named Sucre?”
Bellick approaches Sucre and tells him that conjugal visits are only for married couples. He assures Sucre that he won’t take them away, but in exchange he has to reveal where the cell phone is. Sucre plays dumb and Bellick revokes the visits.
Sucre approaches Michael and says that he better get to make all the calls he wants. Gonna be kind of hard.” Michael pulls out the phone and hands it to Sucre. Sucre looks puzzled, and then snaps the phone in half. It was a sculpted and painted bar of soap. “Soap? I lost my conjugals over soap?”
Michael reveals that they are going to break out and he needed to make sure that he could trust him. Sucre gets angry and packs his things for a cell transfer. Michael begs Sucre to stay, but Sucre says that he only has sixteen months left and he’s not going to risk it.
So why did Sucre go along with the cell phone anyway? If he’s not willing to go along with Michael’s scheme for escape, why not just turn Michael in and keep the conjugal visits? We know ultimately that Sucre goes along with the plan, but at this point I’m wondering why he didn’t try to negotiate.

At the beginning, he was not in, just because he considered that they might be fail, in fact, he might like to escape also. Then the situation was changed, he couldn’t stay any longer. He needed to meet his girl friend as soon as possible. Although fail might happen, He decided to join.
