The season finale of Bones told us that much of what Temperance Brennan thought was true about her past and her family was, well, not.
So, what about the other things in her past?
We know that when her parents "disappeared", she and her brother basically stopped getting along. He left town and she went into foster care.
Until, that is, her "grandfather" came to rescue her. Perhaps he was not actually related to her… and if you follow the forums on FOX, maybe you’ll be as suspicious as I am.
Do you think he was her grandfather? Or maybe, based now on what we know, her father sent someone to take care of her…

I have been intensely curious about that myself, actually. Like Tempe, I try not to get into too much supposition, and haven’t even really touched this topic in my role play fiction writing of Temperance, but…. if I had to guess… I would think that your suggestion that this person she referred to as her grandfather will not end up being her biological grandfather at all. It makes sense, based on the other contextual information we’ve been given that he could have been someone her father sent to take care of her.
Hopefully we’ll be getting more insight into this in the coming season.
