I was so disappointed with the ending of House. Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein both deserved an award for their acting skills in the last two episodes. It was good writing but I thought they were too cruel with House. We actually saw what House would be like if he openly expressed himself with someone – and he was happy. Hallucination or not, it was so enjoyable to watch. And then – everything came tumbling down in the last two minutes. ;__;

I really hope they can help “House” out in season 6. Not being able to practice medicine?!! How is that worse than seeing House all bubbly over Cuddy. At least it’d be a happy continuation! (NEVER “ending”… House forever~!)

AMAZING performances! It broke my heart when I saw the look of fright on Wilson’s face when Cuddy brought House into his office. And driving to the hospital, not a word being said, arriving and House giving Wilson his personal things like his wallet and watch. Finally House looking back at Wilson as the door closes behind him.
The Emmys don’t even deserve Hugh showing up for their stupid awards. There’s not a Hollywood award good enough for Hugh. AMAZING!!

I almost think this is going to make Cuddy realize that she really does love House, now that he finally realized he really does love her, and her “bastard” child.. and, call me crazy, but I also believe Chase and Camerons wedding was a foreshadow for House and Cuddy…

Well, i think House is a role to be not happy at all (sad), cause till now, only person he likes for sure was Stacy! For me as a fan, that´s so boring. I´m wainting that at 6th season House could bring some kind of real engajament between him and Cuddy or another person.

So yes, I absolutely LOVE Hugh Laurie he is amazing!!!!!
So I agree with GeeLady– however, I believe the hallucinations stem back from when Cuddy and Wilson secretly tried to “fix” his brain to cure the pain, the same episode he was shot.. because they just slightly touched on it, he hallucinated for a little while and it went away. Then again when Amber died, and SURPISE, another tragedy…Kutner dying [or going to work for Obama, lol] randomly also.
Now, what is going to happy in season 6..how are they going to do this.. are they going to make it a big dream? was Wilson day dreaming that Cuddy walked House in? You never know…

Good luck to the writers because this is going to be a toughie to take off from, but I cant wait=)

First of all, Kudos to Hugh! I love him and the work he does! I was pretty confused and I guess I have to watch it all over again! I hope that I’m not so confused the second time! The episode was not really what I’d call House style! POTW came to short! It was all so fast over! I’m hoping that this Huddy thing will really happen! I love them both so much! Honestly I’d love it more if Sela Ward would come back! I can’t wait for season six! I’m wondering what will happen!

So that my opinion! Writing on a iPhone in a driving bus isn’t that easy!

I picked up the parallel to Holmes. House also lives at 221B (that flashes by at one point at least outside his apartment), and he plays the piano to meditate the way Holmes plays violin. But what specific pain did Sherlock Holmes have? I thought he used cocaine to ward off boredom.
@comanchepilot: Carl Reiner is a VERY funny guy for sure. He drove me to my 6th grade prom with his son, Robbie, my “date.” My dad drove us home. “I said, Dad, how come u aren’t as funny as Mr Reiner?”

I think the back story of the ep – well – the writers are funny guys. Carl Reiner wrote the Man with 2 Brains. He wrote all sorts of scenes and movies and scripts which had sick connections with plot elements – or – maybe I’m seeing connections that are not there.

The story would have been better if they simply had the entire season be a dream sequence from his brain surgery from last year in the last episode . . . . Amber was then really alive – it would have been a better result to the season.

David Shore has said many times that he based the character of Greg House on that of Sherlock Holmes. They are both enigmatic, cranky perfectionists that see and understand things no one else can. And both characters have an addiction that comes from their chronic pain. House: Vicodin…Holmes: Cocaine. They also both have a long-suffering best friend and sidekick, aka Wilson/Watson.

I love the parallel, since I have always loved the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. :-)

@greg: yes, maybe it’s a metaphor, but we’re not all in the kind of blindingly ceaseless pain that vicodin hardly touches before it makes you dopey. I spent 12 years like that, I know its non-metaphorical side. Wonder is the story idea came from all the returning vets with untouchable chronic pain.
