“Till we meet again”
Wowzers. Lots to recap folks, and only one more Weedtastic episode after this one… here we go: While Nancy and Agent Till talk in the park, Phil, his partner (and lover) looks on from a distance. Nancy wants the DEA to ensure she’ll be protected and that no one will be able to trace info to her. She doesn’t want witness protection — she just wants to get away clean.
In rehab, Celia’s at a group session listening to people’s terrible stories of how they bottomed out because of drug use. She decides she has a chance to start fresh, so she gets her stuff and takes off.
At the house, Andy’s taking a shower in the backyard. Maria arrives and sees him naked. She doesn’t do the meek thing like she has with Doug. Instead, she tells Andy he’s been in her dreams. He’s uncomfortable and tries to change the subject, but she asks him to make love to her. He says no. His body disagrees. He tries to turn it off by thinking about Lou Dobbs, but it doesn’t work.
Phil appears at the maternity store to gather info. Sanjay can totally tell Phil isn’t straight. Nancy tries to distract him and points out the door to the tunnel. Sanjay is still convinced Phil’s gay, but Nancy talks him out of it. And then Sanjay guesses he’s a cop. Nancy looks really worried, but then the fantasy ends with Phil asking Sanjay out.
The goth girls are hanging out with Shane and Isabelle. The girls want to get high, so they concoct a scheme to break into the science lab and steal nitrous. Then Shane tells them that he can get pot instead. Isabelle is disappointed in him and leaves.
Shane goes to talk to Silas, who he thinks will hook him up. Shane asks for a head cheese sandwich. Silas won’t give Shane drugs, even though he did give his little brother a condom before. Apparently sex at 13 is OK; smoking up is not.
Nancy visits Esteban and listens while he goes on about boats. While she’s there, Nancy notices a picture of Esteban’s three daughters, which he had hidden before. She makes him do things he wouldn’t normally do, he says. As they talk, their conversation plays over a scene at the tunnel. Sanjay’s closing up and gets busted by the DEA.
Nancy says she wants to tell Esteban something. She says he knew there were more girls in the tunnel. He responds that they’re in a business with dark-hearted people, but that’s not who they are. The scene in the maternity store gets ugly, with guns drawn. One of Guillermo’s guys is killed. Guillermo and Ignacio escape into the tunnel.
Nancy and Esteban kiss. They start to make out. She asks if he’s in love with her. Esteaban doesn’t answer her.
The DEA follow Guillermo through the tunnel where they run into Mexican police and fight over who has jurisdiction. Nancy and Esteban keep cuddling and make plans for a trip together. The Mexican cops get to keep one guy. Cesar calls, interrupting Esteban and Nancy to deliver the message “red licorice.” Bad things.
Maria is sitting on Doug’s bed when Andy walks in. He manages to talk to Doug and Maria about food until he can’t contain himself and awkwardly blurts out that he and Maria had sex — twice. But in one night, so it was just one time really, he argues. Maria says she seduced Andy. Andy says it won’t happen again. Maria says she loves Andy. Doug appears calm. Andy repeats it won’t happen again. But Maria says it will, many times. Doug thinks it’s awkward for her to stay there. He asks for a few minutes to think. Andy and Maria go in the hall. Doug calls INS.
Esteban and Nancy work the phones to try to get the situation under control. Esteban wonders if Celia was involved, then asks about Sanjay. Nancy asks why they are looking at her people. He responds that his people don’t talk. She asks if he will be looking into her. He asks if there is any reason he should be looking into her?
Cesar arrives and says they’re already working on another tunnel. Esteban tells her they won’t be able to see each other in the short term. As he’s walking out he gives her the answer to her question from last night: Yes. He’s in love with her.
Celia apologizes to Isabelle and asks to be forgiven for judging her daughter. Isabelle rolls her eyes, takes what she can get and forgives her and then lets her apologize to Dean in private. She says she’s sorry for marrying him without ever being sexually attracted to him and starting a family with him. Dean tells her to she has another daughter who deserves a real apology. He tells her that her daughter Quinn, who we haven’t seen since the pilot, is living in Mexico with a boyfriend named Rodolfo. He tells her to go visit her.
Esteban holds a press conference, standing over his own confiscated drugs and sharing the spotlight with Agent Till. In the car, Cesar tells Esteban that someone knows someone in the DEA. Esteban tells him to read the report carefully and then do what he has to do.
Shane shows his head cheese weed to the goth girls, who are totally impressed at his ability to party.
Nancy meets with Agent Till again, who tells her she’ll have to be fake arrested tomorrow. Sanjay is on a plane to safety, he says, and Guillermo is going away for a long time. Nancy claims she doesn’t know who Guillermo’s boss is. Till warns her she might be in danger from people down south if she’s lying.
Till calls Phil, who doesn’t pick up. As the phone rings, we hear screams. Cesar is sanding Phil’s skin off with a power tool. Cesar reads him the papers, demanding to know who the informant is. Phil says he doesn’t know. Cesar starts on the other side of his face. In pain, Phil finally talks. “Nancy Botwin,” he says. Then Cesar shoots him.
