Just a few days ago, Geri Halliwell unofficially announced that she was quitting music for good, after seeing herself as more of a performer. This came just a few months after the Spice Girls cut their world tour short, and split up for the second and last time.
In that article, I begged Victoria Beckham to follow suit, and unbelievably, just the next day, she did so, saying she too was quitting music in an interview on the British television show GMTV.
According to Digital Spy, she told the presenters:
“I’m not going to sing anymore, I’m turning my mic off.”
As for her other plans, she denied the rumours that she’d be joining the Pussycat Trannies, sorry Dolls, on stage for a one-off Las Vegas show.
“I heard about that. The thought of leaping around on stage in a bra top and knickers…no.”
So that’s now two for two, and we just need the other three former Spice Girls to also take the hint and announce their careers are over. So come on Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm, do the decent thing, realise you’ve had your time in the spotlight and just disappear to enjoy your wealth.
