The plot of this episode of Two and a Half Men scores extra points for simplicity.
Out of cash one day and too lazy to hoof it to an ATM, Charlie borrows some money from Alan in the amount of $38, all Alan has, although Charlie actually wanted a couple of hundred dollars. Alan is ultra uptight about Charlie paying him back, going so far as to enter Charlie’s room the next morning where Charlie is in bed with his latest conquest (the reason why he needed the money, incidentally).
When Charlie finally indicates he has no intention of ever paying Alan back, especially since Alan has been living with him for six whole years, Alan gets dirty, literally. He siphons most of the gas out of Charlie’s tank, leaving his brother to get deserted in the middle of nowhere.
Worse, the gas Alan put into his own tank was just over ten bucks, so he thinks Charlie still owes him about $25. Insisting that Charlie repay that amount eventually causes Charlie to kick Alan out.
Of course, Alan heads to Judith and Herb’s and ends up staying with them when Herb is unable to keep his pie hole shut and not invite him. But a little half-asleep disorientation in the middle of the night leads Alan to get into bed with Judith while Herb is at Charlie’s getting some of his stuff, and this time, Judith is the one to get mad.
So, Alan ends back up at Charlie’s with his tail between his legs and forced to apologize. Regardless, Charlie closes the door in his face, and Alan can’t get inside with his old keys because Charlie had the locks changed in less than six hours.
