"Twilight" Interview: Robert Pattinson – VIDEO

"Twilight" will be released on DVD March 21, 2009, and it’s a perfect time to revisit our beloved stars of the movie. Here’s Robert Pattinson, a.k.a. Edward Cullen, talking about drugs, gay experiences and, of course, being cast as the world’s most romantic vampire. Thanks to Paul Byrne and Movies.ie for a great interview!

    Hi there,
Just noticed that you guys have been running a bunch of my ints – very flattering. Just saw someone was upset about my opening line in the Rob Pattinson int – where I tell him that we’ll mix it up by talking about drugs, any homosexual experiences, etc. It’s plainly a joke, and it’s also a way for me to shake people out of a long-day junket stupor. Rob knew I was joking – it’s not like I did actually ask him about his drug use, or whether or not he’d ever had any homosexual affairs.
It’s a line that has worked wonders on everyone from Rob to Meryl Streep, Kathryn Bigelow, De Niro and beyond. Of course, there are a handful of actors where such questions would be extremely relevant…
    Cheers,
    Paul

Hi Jane, You have misquoted Rob there with your hightlight of the interview. I would like to point out that Paul Byrne, the interviewer was the one who started off with leading questions about “drugs and homosexual experience” even before they were to start the interview. Rob didn’t say anything about such things before, during or after the interview. It is sad to see that Mr. Byrne, who obviously is a good interviewer, may have had a certain biased view on Rob to ask those kinds of questions. Media exposure is very powerful. It can make or break a person’s career. If Rob were Mr. Byrne’s son, he would have felt very insulted that someone would ask these kind of questions full of insinuations. Mr. Byrne, you can do a good job without hurting someone intentionally.

I’ve never really enjoyed watching actors give inteviews until now. Rob is so relaxed and not bothered by anything the interviewer wants to ask…it’s actually fun to watch. He’s a good actor, I’ve loved all his movies because the characters were all so different. Really looking forward to Little Ashes and New Moon. Too bad about Parts Per Billion – I know he would have sizzled in it.

This is a great interview. he is so real.. it’s nice to be able to see these kinds of interviews at the beginning of someone’s “fame” before they become practiced and boring and treat interviews like.. i dunno.. swatting a fly off your face or somethign equally annoying. And before they get fake about it all.

    YO YO YO!
Robert Pattinson’s acting skills are amazing, we have never been touched so much by a character, like he did when he played Art in How to Be.
And it helps that his face is quite attractive too.
    Oh god, we’re creeps :D

    xoxo
