While we look forward to The Tudors’ third season kick-off in April, creators Michael Hirst and Morgan O’Sullivan are busy gathering inspiration from another storied moment in British history: King Arthur’s reign.
The Tudors masterminds are penning Camelot, a contemporary update on the classic tale of love, faith and betrayal. Showtime and the BBC are splitting the cost of developing the hourlong series, which Hirst and O-Sullivan would co-write and co-exec produce if it gets greenlit.
We’ve seen these two turn Henry VIII from the gouty, obese tyrant of popular memory into a taut, sexy egomaniac, so it’ll be interesting to see how far they go when their lush, soap-operatic vision is unleashed on a world filled with knights, kings, magicians and holy quests.
What do you think?
