Totally agree with AmmyP – if you don’t like it, don’t watch it! No ones got a stake to your chest! Why spoil it for the millions if us who LOVE the show, bought the books, the DVD and can’t wait for Season 2. You killjoys should just find a hole in the ground, get in and stay quiet!

Despite various negative criticism I think the show does a great job of blending several themes you might not think to mix and in a darkly comedic fashion. I think it’s essential to have several storylines so as not to lose viewers due to lack of material and interest. I’m excited to see what’s ahead! I think viewers have an innate need to criticize new shows and pin them with the likes of current favorites, but all in all I think it’s best to let the show unwind the way it’s supposed to and determine such criticisms once it’s had enough time to develop the FULL story.

I actually enjoy the show a lot its unlike the typical vampire show which interests me and [ I watch a lot of things invovling vampires, werewolves, etc] I really wish people would realized its based of the damn series and cant be exactly like the books [though I havent read the books I've read the comments] Its irritating when people expect the show movie to be exactly like the book seriously relax dont watch the show if you arent satisfied you want a book(s)gone movie LOTR is as close as it gets and people probably hate it because it is a vampire show and everyone and their mother is in love with Twilight so vampires are a big thing now and of course you always have people that are overly obsessed which makes other people hate it which is probably the case here

True Blood is great. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. I’ve seen southern accents that were much worse.

It is definitely a different take on the vampire mythos. Has anyone on here read the novels? I had never heard of them before I started researching the show.

I understood where they’re tryin to go with it. It needs more action cause the first episode just didn’t do it for me. I’m assuming anna’s role is some sort of Buffyesque with the powers and not being a vampire. It’s peaked my interest for a few episodes…

i hope by next month she has another job lined up. this show blows by HBO standards. To many characters and the Vamps were kinda lame. The main vamp, do not know his name, came of as a lame. The guy is not a good actor. I hate the voices that tried to mimic a Louisiana twang, i am from there and nobody sounds like that if they did i would have killed them myself.

I did watch it. Or at least 20 minutes of it. It was horrible. The worst vampire show I’ve ever seen. Come on, vampires going on Bill Maher to whine about their civil rights? How lame. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
