Top Five Scenes of Lost Season 2

The second season of Lost started to show us the many twists and turns that we were about to encounter. The Losties are about to begin a journey that will take them places never expected.

Here are my top five scenes of Lost Season 2. Please feel free to share yours in the comments below:

  1. It’s Desmond! (Episode 2.01: Man of Science, Man of Faith).
In this scene we meet Desmond, who has been living in a hatch for who knows how long! We also learn more about this holding tank buried in the ground – leading us to Dharma and Widmore and many more events and characters.
  2. Shannon’s Death (Episode 2.06: Abandoned).
It’s not that I wanted Shannon to die, although I certainly didn’t like the girl. What I remember so clearly about this scene was Sayid’s reaction to the death. And that makes it one of my favorite scenes.
  3. The Tailies (Episode 2.07: The Other 48 Days). What? There were other people that survived the crash? And there were children that were taken away? The tailies certainly had it more rough than our original castaways and I loved the condensed look at their first 48 days on the island.
  4. It’s Henry Gale (Episode 2.14: One of Them).
It’s Henry Gale. I mean it’s Ben. But who knew at the time that Michael Emerson would be such an intricate character. Instead during this first glimpse we’re still wondering if Henry is a good guy or a bad guy. Salvation or something more sinister?
  5. Polar Station (Episode 2.23: Live Together Die Alone).
We always thought life was going on off the island, but this is the first glimpse of it. We see a polar research station, where two men speaking Portuguese are playing chess. The game is interrupted by a beeping monitor, whose screen displays the message “>/ 7418880 Electromagnetic Anomaly Detected”. One of the men calls Penny and says, “I think we’ve found it.” And we’re left hanging until Season 3!

You forget one of the most exciting scenes – the Michael shooting Ana Lucia and Libby scene. Still gives me goosebumps.

I just finished rewatching and reviewing/analyzing the episodes on my blog, and I mostly agree. I think I’d keep Shannon’s death off and put Locke’s “I was wrong” line on there, that was a good line.

You must be watching the DVDs during the offseason as so many of us are. I can’t wait for the season 4 dvd to come out, even though I still have them all dvr’d.

The first moment you mentioned above, is one of the top moments for the series, not just that season. What a shock seeing that somebody was living in the hatch. Since then, Desmond has become one of my favorite characters.
