Am I excited for the July 27 episode of The Closer or what?! The reason why is because the installment, “Elysian Fields,” features Emmy-winning guest star Tom Skerritt, whom fans like me remember from the intriguing long-ago series Picket Fences.

The latest adventures of Team Brenda involve the investigation of a murdered man who himself was suspected of murdering two girls ten years ago. The victim’s corpse shows he was shot twice in the head and then dumped in Elysian Park.
Discovery of the body prompts the detective who worked the decade-old case (Skerritt) to come out of retirement to assist. As expected, however, the old-timer is obsessed with closing that case, which presents a problem for Brenda and her squad’s current inquiry.
Sneak a peek at the episode in the preview clip below, which shows Skerritt in action with our favorite regular cast members. G.W. Bailey’s Lieutenant Provenza continues to be an extremely enjoyable hoot this season.

i think the second part of season 5 of the closer will resolve the lawyer who killed and walked on the rapes and the murder, at least my friend whos brother in law is a camera man on their crew. he cant talk about it but he ot drunk and hinted the dude will be back to confess to miss atlantaaaa before the last few episodes. and brendas father dies on the finale, so in season 6 she will deal with regret of not takin time with family.
