I was about to say that Tobey Maguire is moving into the production business, but then looked at his IMDB page, which reveals that he’s been producing movies since 2002. And he’s got 16 – count ‘em, 16 – movies in production over the next few years, including "Spider-Man 4" (2011) and "Spider-Man 5" (2012).
That’s pretty amazing, considering that he’s only 33, and his Maguire Entertainment production company seems to be a major force in Hollywood.
Maguire’s latest project is "The Limit," which he’ll produce and star in for Columbia. Based on Michael Cannell’s upcoming book, "The Limit" tells the story of real-life friends Phil Hill (played by Maguire) and Wolfgang von Trips, two Grand Prix drivers on the Ferrari team who end up racing against each other in the 1961 Drivers Championship.
Now I’m wondering where they’ll take the next two "Spider-Man" movies. Will Peter and Mary Jane get married? Will there be little spider-kids?
