Those Ultra-Cool Magnetic Reading Glasses

Fans of CSI: NY see Dr. Sid Hammerback, played by Robert Joy, use his totally cool snap-together reading glasses to get a closer look at the victims each week. Am I the only one that has wondered about these interesting accessories?

Well, I’ve done some research and found that we can all be just as cool, because we can own our own pair of them. I found them here for $24.99. They click together with little magnets on either side of the bridge of the nose.

In my mind, they offer three advantages their owner:

Until they are needed, they can hang around one’s neck. No longer would we have to fumble or search for our reading glasses each time we need them.
They would help us read things up-close. (This one is obvious!)
We would instantly gain “Cool points!” (enough said…)

You should be able to buy the glasses, take them to your eyedoctor and get lens that fit them, they would cost like prescription lens though so the cost might be more than you wish to pay to get them. Unfortunately I am going to have to go that route if I want them as well.

cool glasses, but I can’t find them in a 1.0 magnification. Any suggestions?
